Cat Sitting in London — Because Cats Hate Leaving Home

No cattery, no carrier, no stress. A fully insured live-in sitter keeps your cat's territory, feeding times and evening company exactly as they know it — and sends you daily proof of a relaxed cat.

From £28/night on longer stays · Cat-specialist sitters available

Every cat owner knows the truth the pet industry ignores: cats don't travel. They bond with places as much as people, and removing them from their territory — to a cattery, or even a friend's house — is the single most stressful thing you can do to them. So we don't. The sitter comes to your cat.

Happy at Home Pets is a small, founder-led team — including genuine cat specialists — covering London zones 1–4. Your sitter lives in for the whole stay, keeps the litter, feeding and play routines identical, and your home stays occupied and secure while you're away.

Why London cats do better with live-in care

Their territory, untouched

Cats are territorial before they're anything else. A cattery removes everything they rely on; a live-in sitter preserves all of it — their rooms, perches, garden access and hiding spots.

Company, not check-ins

Drop-in visits leave a cat alone 23 hours a day. Our sitters live in — evening laps, morning routines, and someone there when your cat actually wants attention.

Medication done properly

Thyroid tablets, insulin, seniors with kidney routines — we handle medication schedules exactly, and tell you it's done. Many of our cat sits are for older cats with real needs.

Shy and anxious cats welcome

We go at the cat's pace. Some of our favourite updates are day-five photos of a 'never comes out for strangers' cat asleep on the sitter's lap.

Fully insured, DBS checked

£5m public liability and £75k pet injury cover held in our own name, with background-checked sitters. Certificates available before you confirm.

Multi-cat households

Two cats, four cats, cats-plus-a-dog — multi-pet homes are normal for us, with a small nightly add-on per extra pet.

Cat sitting FAQs

Why choose a live-in cat sitter over a cattery?

Catteries mean a carrier journey, strange smells, other animals and a cage — everything a territorial animal hates. With live-in sitting your cat stays in their own home with their routine identical and real company, and your home stays occupied too.

Is live-in sitting better than daily drop-in visits?

For most cats, yes. A 15-minute visit covers food and litter but leaves your cat alone the other 23 hours. A live-in sitter is there mornings and evenings — when cats actually seek company — and can spot problems early.

How much does cat sitting cost in London?

Live-in cat sitting starts from around £28 per night on longer stays, with steep discounts as stays lengthen. Most bookings run 7–14 nights — the calculator on our homepage gives an instant exact quote.

Can you give my cat medication?

Yes — tablets, drops, injections where trained, and senior-cat routines. We confirm the exact schedule at the meet-and-greet and keep you updated as doses are given.

Do you sit for indoor-only cats in flats?

Constantly — indoor cats in flats across Shoreditch, Angel, King's Cross and beyond are a huge share of our bookings. Live-in care is the lowest-stress option there is for them.

Which parts of London do you cover?

Zones 1–4 — East London (Hackney, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Stratford and around), North & Central (Islington, Marylebone, Soho, Hampstead), West (Notting Hill, Kensington, Chelsea) and South (Clapham, Battersea, Tooting, Peckham).
