House Sitting in London — Your Home Lived In, Your Pets at Home
A fully insured sitter stays in your home for the whole trip. Pets keep their routine, the post gets collected, the plants stay alive, and the house never sits dark and empty.
From £28/night on longer stays · Free meet-and-greet before every first booking
Leaving a London home empty for a fortnight is its own small worry, quite apart from the pets. Post stacks up, plants give up, deliveries sit on the step announcing that nobody's in, and your insurer may have opinions about how long the place has stood unoccupied. House sitting solves all of it at once, because somebody is simply living there while you're away.
We're a small, founder-led team run by Marcus Watts, with a handful of personally vetted sitters covering London zones 1–4. Nearly all our house sits include pets — dogs and cats who'd far rather stay in their own home than go into kennels or a cattery.
What a house sit covers
A lived-in home, not an empty one
Lights on in the evening, curtains that move, no parcels piling up on the step. An occupied house doesn't advertise that you're away, which is the simplest home security there is.
Post, parcels and deliveries
We collect the post, take in deliveries and keep the doorstep clear. If you're expecting something that matters, tell us and we'll put it somewhere safe.
Plants and gardens kept alive
Watering to whatever schedule you leave. One of our sitters has a background in organic gardening, so houseplants that need more than a splash are in good hands.
Pets stay in their own home
The reason most people book us. Dogs keep their full walk routine, cats keep their territory, and medication schedules run exactly as they should — no kennels, no cattery, no carrier.
Insurance in our own name
£5m public liability, £75k pet injury cover and £10k for lost keys and locksmith callouts — held directly by us, not borrowed from a booking platform. Certificates available before you confirm.
Respectful house guests
No parties, no gatherings, no using your things. House rules followed exactly as written, and the place left clean and tidy for your return.
Trusting someone with your keys
Handing over your home is a bigger ask than handing over your pets, and we treat it that way. Every sit runs to the same standard, whoever is doing it:
- Daily photo and message updates as standard
- Responsive and reachable throughout your trip
- House rules, routines and boundaries followed exactly as agreed
- No parties or social gatherings
- No use of personal belongings
- Plants watered and post collected while you're away
- Home left clean and tidy

House sitting FAQs
What is live-in house sitting?
A sitter stays in your home for the duration of your trip, rather than dropping in. They care for your pets, keep the property occupied and looked after, collect post, water plants and follow whatever house rules you leave. You get daily updates while you're away.
Do I have to have pets to book a house sitter?
Most of our sits involve pets, and that's where our experience is. If you need a house sitter without any animals in the picture, get in touch with your dates and we'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
Does an occupied house matter for home insurance?
It can. Many home insurance policies reduce or withdraw cover once a property has been left unoccupied for a set period, often somewhere between 30 and 60 days. Check your own policy wording, but a live-in house sitter keeps the property occupied throughout.
How much does house sitting cost in London?
Live-in house and pet sitting starts from around £28 per night on longer stays, with the rate falling as the booking gets longer. The instant quote calculator on our homepage prices your exact dates in seconds.
Can I meet the house sitter before I book?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. We offer a free 30-minute meet-and-greet at your home before first bookings where time permits, so you can hand over keys, walk through the house and see who you're trusting with it. Video calls are available if that's easier.
Which parts of London do you cover?
Zones 1–4, with dedicated pages for the areas we work in most across East, North & Central, West and South London. If your area isn't listed, send us your postcode with an enquiry and we'll confirm.
